Finding The Quiet

I first picked up watercolors as a form of a way to relieve stress from modern day life. What began as a personal journey to find calm in the chaos quickly evolved into a deep passion. Watercolor demands a unique balance of control, surrender, and working with what is left in the process. Finding an art process that reflected much of how life works brought me a sense of peace.

The pieces created here are a reflection of that peaceful mindset. They are designed to bring a sense of tranquility and light into the home.

We look forward to sharing our next creation with you soon.

FAQs

What is your background?

My artistic journey started at WSU, where I earned my BFA in Studio Art. While my emphasis was printmaking, it was less about the technical process and more about a remarkable professor who challenged me to become a better artist.

After working for several companies, I launched a rewarding 20+ year career in photo-realistic illustration, during which I collaborated with global enterprises to local shops.

In 2022, I stepped away from commercial work to embrace family life and travel. When 2026 arrived, I found myself craving a respite from the noise of daily life. I picked up watercolors as a way to disconnect and find the quiet I so desperately needed. That is how Still Manor was born.

Why abstract watercolors?

I love that I have little to no control. My whole career has been making photo-realistic art, and to be honest, I am tired of the expected.

Watercolors are mesmerizing. I love when the paint dries, finding the living being that is waiting for breath. I can only compare it to staring at the clouds to find the animal.

How many paintings do you produce a month?

I create sometimes up to 14 a week, BUT only about 4 of those pieces will make it to the site.

Do you sell the originals?

Yes and no.

From time to time, original creations are released from the studio. These are currently either 6"x8" or 9"x12" pieces on hot press watercolor paper. Our existing collectors receive first priority during an exclusive members-only pre-sale, before the remaining collection is unveiled to the wider public.
